Although gender equality and inclusion should be recognized at all times, we are grateful for the heightened awareness during Women’s History Month & International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is #eachforequal, highlighting what we can do to take action as individuals to have an impact within our communities, our companies, and our larger society. This collective action and shared responsibility for driving a gender equal world is key.
Knowing the importance of taking individual action, we are urging our Mettacool community to do more than post on social media or like this post. We are leveraging the momentum of IWD and Women’s History Month to kick off a campaign asking you to share your story with our community. We believe in the power of personal narrative and we are on a mission to change the narrative of what it means to be a successful woman, for both women and organizations.
We want to hear about the challenges you’ve faced in your professional career as a woman that you’ve overcome –the triumphs, the funny, the awkward situations, the pivotal moments that changed who you are. No matter your story, we ask that the common thread be that you share your lesson learned, and we urge you to share what you think other women and organizations can do to help with the hopes that your story reaches other women and men who may need to hear your message!
Thinking about these pivotal stages in your career and personal life, what is a story you might want to share from that season? Maybe you’re in that stage now and you want to share a story about a very recent lesson.
So here’s the ask: Submit your story HERE. Either:
1. Record a short video on your phone or laptop (we do not care about the video quality!) telling your story, OR
2. Submit a written story with a photo of yourself3. Recruit at least one friend to do the same 🙂
