February Favorites

If you’re anything like us, when you discover something great, you want to share it with others! Whether it’s a good book, an easy recipe, or our latest Amazon find, we thought we’d let you peek into our lives to see what we’re obsessing over as of late.

This month, here’s what we can’t get enough of:

The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

Natalie and I both picked this up around the new year (completely by chance!), and we were both HOOKED. The basic gist of the book is that by making the most of some time you set aside each morning, that you can in turn make the most of every day, and of your life. Elrod’s recommended morning routine involves meditation, journaling, exercise, affirmations, positive visualization, and more. It truly is an incredible way to start your day.

Melissa Wood Tepperberg and the MWH Method

I feel such a connection to this woman, it’s insane. Aside from being a total wellness guru on all things plant-based eating and low-impact movement (both my JAM), she is a mama to two little kiddos (and she’s not afraid to get real about motherhood, amen), and she actually radiates light and love. I recently started working out with her MWH method at home and it’s like I can feel her love through the screen on my iPad. The workouts are challenging, which is ideal, but also low impact, which is really important for so many of us women out there who don’t do well with high-intensity training due to our hormones.

Follow Melissa on Instagram here and subscribe to her workouts here — only $9.99/month!

Ketotarian by Dr. Will Cole

Being a wellness professional, I’ve tried all the diets. Natalie and I have both done multiple Whole 30s, I was vegan for a bit, then pescatarian, and most recently, I gave the ketogenic diet a try. Let me tell you, the keto diet is a bit tricky for someone who doesn’t eat all that much meat. After struggling through 10 days of consuming more meat and less plants than I probably have in a year, I found Ketotarian, and BLESS Dr. Will Cole for writing this book. His version of a mostly plant-based ketogenic diet allows for up to 55 grams of carbohydrate as opposed to 20 grams on a typical ketogenic diet, and it emphasizes lots of veggies, healthy fats, and some fish here and there. Finally, a way of clean eating that feels truly sustainable long term!

Almost 30 Podcast

Calling all women in their late 20s and early 30s! If you haven’t been listening to the Almost 30 podcast with Krista Williams and Lindsey Simcik, you are missing out big time. Between the banter, these women cover everything from wellness and personal development to business advice and entrepreneurship. The best part is that they keep it so real. There is no pretense and no catty girl talk, only a community of supportive women dedicated to lifting other women up.

Listen to the show in the podcast app and get the show notes here.

Linen Sheets

I don’t know how I ever slept on anything BUT linen sheets before this discovery, but holy amazing. Just how a flowy linen shirt feels incredible on a hot summer day, these sheets make crawling in bed feel better than eating dessert (which I’ll actually skip if it means I can get in bed sooner). They’re not cheap, but my husband and I considered them an investment in our self care — because, as they love to tell you at the mattress store, you spend ⅓ of your life in bed, so it might as well be comfortable.

Pick up a set of these heavenly sheets here.

Mary Poppins Returns

This movie has it ALL: Emily Blunt (an incredibly hard-working and talented mother of two), music that makes you want to sing along, Meryl Streep (an icon for working women everywhere), and important life lessons galore. While this film is certain to hold the attention of your children for 2+ hours, it will also teach them (and all of us) things like the importance of shifting your perspective or taking the time to fly a kite (a whimsical analogy for self care, no?) We’re terribly upset that Emily Blunt wasn’t nominated for an Oscar for her role in this one, but knowing her she’s handled the snub with grace and has set her sights on a project even bigger. Aren’t strong, persevering women the best?

Catch Mary Poppins Returns in theaters everywhere.

Let us know if you’ve experienced any of these lately, or if you plan to check a few out. We always love to hear from you!

xx, Molly
